Chippie Prepaid BlackBerry Service

You need the following in order to use the service:

  • A BlackBerry device
  • An active prepaid account
  • Sufficient funds on your account balance
  • No active BlackBerry service on your prepaid account

Instructions for subscribing to the UTS Prepaid Blackberry service

There are two (2) UTS Prepaid Blackberry service packages, which are for 10 or 30 days. To subscribe to the service, send an SMS message to the number 3838 with the following text:

To check the validity period of your UTS Prepaid Blackberry service, please send an SMS message:

BB<space>VAL to 3838

When your subscription of the Prepaid Blackberry service expires, you can always sign up again, by selecting the 10 day package or the 30 day package.

Note: the commands are not case sensitive, meaning that it is not necessary to use only uppercase for the activation.

The Prepaid BlackBerry Service by Chippie is not tied to a contract. You can purchase
a BlackBerry Smartphone handheld at one of these UTS Stores: Gosieweg, Renaissance
and Caracasbaaiweg to make use of the prepaid Chippie BlackBerry service.
