Setting up your account and e-mail

Before starting the procedure of setting up your account,  make sure your simcard is inserted in the new phone.

Setting up a new BlackBerry.
After inserting the simcard, place the battery into the phone and wait till the phone is turned on.
On the screen on your right hand you will see the letters GPRS in capital letters.(see Figure 1)

Get setup from your computer

Click on create a new account. (see Figure 2)

Read the Legal Terms and Conditions then click I Agree (see Figure 3).

Type your PIN and IMEI and click continue (You can find your PIN and IMEI on your BlackBerry box or in your device, OPTIONS > STATUS. ( see Figure 4).

Create a username and a password to access the account and click Next. (username must be min 4 characters and password min 6 characters (see Figure 5).

Type your existing email address and the password for that email address in the appropriate fields, then click next (see Figure 6).

The following message will display: “You have successfully configured access to: username@email.com”.

Note:  If you are a Yahoo! mail account holder,  you must subscribe to Yahoo! Mail Plus in order to integrate your Yahoo! mail account with your BlackBerry Internet Service account.

Type in the username field the name you want for your new BlackBerry email address. Type in the password field a secret password for your new BlackBerry email address and then confirm the password by re-entering it.

You can create your own secret question or choose a secret question from the list, enter the answer in the space provided and then click Next followed by OK .
